Syrian Aid Container

Monday, April 23, 2018 - 15:45

The SJM has managed to raise around £20,000 thanks to the generous donations of the local community to help the suffering people of Syria. The money was used to purchase 42 pallets of food aid and loaded onto a 40 foot container along with cloths, nappies and medical supplies. This is the second container which has been sent from the Mosque with the last one being in March 2017. Once the aid reaches Turkey it will be taken into Syria and distributed within refugee camps to those most affected by the War. It is very important that we help those who have lost everything and have been suffering for a number of years now, we pray that peace and stability is restored in Syria. We would like to thank everyone who donated, all of the volunteers who helped load the container, his church charity for supplying the aid and al fatiha global for their ongoing support with our charity projects. The Mosque now plans to send a team of volunteers to Turkey to purchase aid and work/support with the refugees there, more updates on this project in due course.
