Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil (q) Passes Away

Monday, June 30, 2014 - 19:11

8th Rajab, 1435 - 7th May 2014

The soul of the greatest living saint, the one responsible for saving millions of souls from the hand of satan, was invited back today to be with His lord. The lover is united with the beloved, and the one calling people to eternity, is with his beloved for eternity.

It is with hearts burning with grief and eyes filled with tears that we state that after a difficult illness Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil (q), has passed from this worldly life today, and moved to al-Rafeeq al-`Alaa, the Highest Companionship of Allah `Azza wa Jall and His Beloved Prophet Sayyidina Muhammad(s).

He was the majestic and noble leader of millions of people around the world who will feel a great void in their temporal lives without his physical presence to comfort them.

We request all Mawlana Shaykh's mureeds around the world to recite Surah Yaseen, Surat al-Mulk, Tahlil, Salawat, Khatm Khawajagan and to serve meals on the name of Mawlana Shaykh gifting the reward for his soul.

Shaykh Nazim had been receiving intense care since April 17 when he rushed from his home in Lefke to the Near-East University Hospital in Lefkosa (Nicosia) after suffering from respiratory problems and heart failure. Shaykh Nazim was the leader of the Naqshibandi-Haqqani Sufi order which traces its roots back to 11th-century Sufi Saint Abdul Qadir Jilani and 13th-century mystical poet Jalaluddin Rumi.

He inherited the leadership of the order from Shaykh Abdullah Fa'izi ad-Daghestani after he passed away in 1973 and has millions of followers all over the world. Having lived in Turkey, Syria and the United Kingdom, Shaykh Nazim then settled in his hometown in the TRNC. He was fluent in English, Turkish, Arabic and Cypriot Greek.
