Experience The Shah Jahan Mosque in 3D!
Welcome to the Shah Jahan Mosque
The Shah Jahan Mosque, built in 1889 by Dr Gottleib Wilhelm Leitner, is the first mosque to be built in the UK and Northern Europe. The mosque is situated on Oriental Road in Woking, about three quarters of a mile from the railway station and town centre. Click on the video below to watch a short walkabout of an interactive digital 3D mock up made by Islam In British Stone. Individuals and groups especially primary and junior schools are able to organise guided tours of the Shah Jahan Mosque, which provide an ideal opportunity for school children and adults to gain a better understanding of both Islam and the mosque. Please visit the Education section of our website to arrange School/Group visits and download our Visitors Form. For more infomation on Muslim heritage in Britain and have a go at the 3D interactive environment go to our Media section, select Photo Gallery and then select 'Experience The Shah Jahan Mosque in 3D!' or please visit http://www.islaminbritishstone.co.uk/ When you click on the Shah Jahan Mosque in 3D link you will be asked to download a small plug-in to enable Go 3D! to work. But dont worry, its very small and you won't even have to restart your browser. Once downloaded you will be prompted to run the plugin, this will then copy some temporary files onto your system (this are about 10Mb) and once installed you will be able to view, interact and experience the 3D environment within your browser straight away. Once the program opens use the mouse and cursor keys to move and look around. Use keys "1" and "2" to change between interactive mode and fly-through.
