Pakistan Flood Relief

Pakistan Flood Relief

Update: February 2011
Since August 2010, the Shah Jahan Mosque has continued the rebuilding work to assist the victims of the floods in Pakistan. Total donations passed the £180,000. These funds have been raised through various activities such as organising collections at Lords Cricket Ground, car washes both at the mosque and in conjunction with the Surrey Fire & Rescue Service. As with all such things how ever much you raise, it is quite never enough.

A number of organisations have played a significant part in assisting the mosque to maximise the donations and funds raised and we want to recognise and thank them for their contribution and efforts. Our sincere appreciation and thanks to all those who have contributed to help us raise funds for this.

Ham Nawa Association
The Ham Nawa Association organised a recital of Islamic Poetry, which successfully raised over £6,000.

Woking Asian Business Forum (WABF)
Woking Asian Business Forum, held a charity dinner and successfully raised £8,000.

Update: December 2010
The Shah Jahan Mosque, has played a leading role in the community to help raise funds for those affected by the natural disaster caused by the floods in Pakistan in 2010. It has already raised over £150,000 for the flood relief effort and sent a team of volunteers to Pakistan to help rebuild a number of villages, which it aims to help over the short and long term. These villages will hopefully become self sufficient and maintain a link both with the Shah Jahan Mosque and also Woking thorough the work undertaken.
